Lovely stay in a beautiful setting
This campsite is in such a great spot with access to beautiful countryside and plenty of walking routes. Only slight downside is that the toilets and showers were out of action during our visit. This was communicated to us before our stay and they shipped in portaloos especially! Will definitely come again and take advantage of the offer of food deliveries when the weather is better.
★★★★★
Lovely location and small campsite
Toilets and water taps etc were all fine. Location was lovely with sea views, and a nice walk down to the coast. Communication with the owners was great and check-in was easy. Some of the pitches didn't look particularly flat, but mine was fine.

Stunning views, delightful location, friendly hosts and all-you-need facilities
We had a fantastic 1 night stay on Stud Farm. We were greeted by the lovely Mandy after arriving on Train > Bus > Short walk to the farm. The facilities are perfect for your stay and we had a fire pit which was a lovely bonus to our stay. The views are BEAUTIFUL and the 25 minute walk down to the sea and Smugglers Rest pub was stunning. We will be back for more walks and great pitch! Thank you!

Beautiful views
This is a gorgeous campsite on a hill, with amazing views over the Downs and the sea. It gets a bit blustery but in a good way! The people who run the site are great and had managed the social distancing in an unobtrusive way, and we met some lovely fellow campers. You can walk down to the sea pretty quickly and have a swim. I'll definitely be back!
★★★★★
Super chill site
Lovely spot with sea views and nice and sheltered from the gales. Bonus points for being really accessible without a car - we cycled from Brighton, but it would also be pretty straightforward to get there by taking the coastline bus. Facilities are really straightforward, there's a bunch of space, and the campfire package is also a massive bonus. Will definitely make our way up here again for another easy weekend break in the near future.

Lovely
We had a lovely one night stay. It’s at the top of a hill so it was quite windy but the views are great. You can choose to camp by some trees for more shelter if you like. Fire pit was fun. The toilets are simple but clean. Washing up facilities. We watch the sun go down by the fire and in the morning there was sheep just the other side of the fence by our car! Excellent.

Laid back camping in lovely location
Had a great stay in our camper van at Stud Farm. Lovely to wake up to views and fresh air. Mandy really looked after us - very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the bbq and breakfast packs - best sausages ever. Also hired fire pit which was fun (and the mega marshmallows to toast!). Was windy during day when we were there but calmed down at night. Make sure you have plenty pegs for your tents and don't forget your mallet! All friendly people camping there too - very spread out and spacious. We visited Lewes, Seaford by car and also local walks.
★★★★★
Perfect location and friendly welcome
We booked stud farm as a last minute nights camping and we're glad we did. The location is fantastic with views over the sea and a short walk into Peacehaven and the local pub. We'll certainly be booking again with a larger group (covid permitting!). You must try the local produce too - the sausages are great on a bbq!
★★★★★
Perfect location and friendly welcome
We booked stud farm for a last minute nights camping and we're glad we did. The site is in a great location overlooking the sea and an easy walk to the closest pub. Justine gave us a really warm welcome and we'll be sure to book again for next year with a larger group (covid permitting!) PS. Make sure you try some of the produce on offer - the sausages are great on a bbq!
★★★★★
Spotless and well run
Excellent choice to stay at, amenities are the cleanest we’ve come across and Covid friendly. In fact the pitches are segregated Which makes for a Covid free place if you’re worried. Helpful lady who popped round several times cleaning and checking all ok. Beautiful views all around, trifle windy but hey it’s all part of the fun!
★★★★★
Beautiful place
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The field is very clean with excellent views of the sea in most of the pitching points, however not from all. It’s a little bit of a walk to get to the beach (40 minutes), but a nice walk at that. The toilets were clean, and the owner visits every day where you can ask her for more wood or any advice. Would 100% recommend for anyone.

Away from it all, but close to everything
Felt very lucky to get two nights here during the most recent heatwave. Beautiful simple spot overlooking the sea, and a half hour walk down to Saltdean or Peacehaven. Great to camp right next to the car - made everything really easy, but the cars didn't get in the way of the amazing views or the spaciousness of the campsite. We got a fire pit and logs and had a lovely evening watching the sunset, and another one down on the beach eating fish and chips. Judging by the shape of the trees I recknon it can get quite breezy up there, but we had lovely still weather. Justine and co made everything really easy, and the farm produce was delicious. We will be back!

Beautiful campsite with sea views
Had a fantastic weekend here with my partner. The campsite was spacious and has incredible views of the sea and south downs. Some awesome walks nearby. Mandy was fab, we felt looked after and very much enjoyed our breakfast hamper of sausages, bacon and eggs, plus the firepit! Highly recommend.
★★★★★
Brilliant, clean, friendly, PERFECT!
Absolutely lovely little campsite to stay. Mandy was extremely friendly and accommodating at all times, we even stayed an extra night on a busy weekend at last minute as we were having so much fun and Mandy accommodated us easily, thank you! The field is spacious and offers 270 degree views of the ocean and the rolling hills of the downs. (Note: the upper end of the field is more exposed to the sea breeze so with a wind you’ll feel it a lot more especially at night. Lower down the field you can tuck behind the hill or the tree line at the back for a more sheltered experience). Toilets were immaculate at all times of day during our stay and the water runs hot and cold as needed. The washing area is well left and everyone respected the shared spaces well. The fire kits are good and we cooked on the fire pit for three days easily. One very minor request would be to have some hooks in the bathrooms / toilet cubicles for our coats. All in all a lovely first experience for us at Stud Farm, we highly recommend it and will definitely be back!
★★★★★
Perfect little escape
This spot is perfect for a coastal getaway. My partner and I wanted a simple one near the sea with the ability to get to Brighton and Lewes easily. Buses took us to both towns very quickly. Bus stop was a 13 min walk from the campsite. Enjoyed our sausages and croissants that the owners provided for us. Thank you! Lovely sea views and a peaceful area.
★★★★★
Perfect Sea-Side Hideaway
Myself and some friends spent the weekend here and can say its a very well organized camp with Mandy who comes around to check on you and any requirements you have such as extra logs and so on. The camp site based at the end of a very quiet country road perched up on cliffs overlooking the sea has outstanding views and the pitches were very well laid out giving everybody the room they required. I will definitely return with the kids next summer.
★★★★★
Lovely Setting
A beautiful setting with a fabulous view, lovely people, would’ve been even better if the sun had appeared!
★★★★★
Beautiful, extremely peaceful
The views at this campsite were breathtaking! Great location - a fairly short, easy and scenic walk away from the town and beach. We had an amazing time - Justine made us feel very welcome! Would highly recommend hiring a campfire - was great value for money and kept the chill at bay for sure! 10/10 would highly recommend.

Beautiful location, fabulous customer service, fantastic food
We had a wonderful few days at Stud Farm with both Mandy & Justine making our stay even more homely. Delicious home produce was enjoyed including sausages and burgers, nothing was too much trouble and we even borrowed some freezer blocks when we needed some. Thank you again it was a lovely experience with beautiful coastal views and amazing countryside. Our children and border collie loved the fresh air and open space with plenty of room for pitching the tents and friendly and quiet campers in the evening. The fire pits and marshmallows were a lovely addition. We would highly recommend this campsite for families and friends.

40th birthday
I had big plans for my 40th birthday which were mainly based upon flying to a far flung place with friends to celebrate. Covid-19 put the kibosh on those plans and a hasty UK alternative was arranged. I could not be happier with how it worked out. We stayed in a couple of bell tents on the stud farm for 3 nights. The location was beautiful and the night sky was stunning. Evenings were spent day drinking rum and champagne around the fire pit, the days were spent walking off hangovers along the South Downs way. The wind was insane, but the bell tents stood up to it well and we drifted off each night in a cosy, tipsy fairy-light haze listening to the gusts outside. A beautiful and very much needed escape from London with beloved friends, I feel very lucky to have been able to stay here and definitely recommend it.
★★★★★
Absolutely perfect
Such a beautiful camp site with stunning views of both the sea and South Downs. The facilities were very clean and well kept, Mandy was the best host, so friendly and welcoming and even returned at a late hour to provide us more fire wood. Highly recommend the BBQ hamper, the farms burgers and sausages were so fresh and delicious it was amazing value for money. Was very easy to cook over the fire pit even with the strong winds! Overall, we had a lovely visit and can’t wait to return. Thank you so much for having us!

Lovely site lovely host
Lovely site with nice views over the sea. Host came to greet us and was v helpful directing us to local Tesco (15min walk). Showers were closed for Covid but small toilet block with drinking water available. Would recommend hiring the fire pits they looked great! Will be back :)

Great site lovely host
Lovely site easy to find and lovely views over the sea. The host came to greet us and was very helpful with directions to the local Tesco (15 mins walk) . Would recommend hiring the fire pits and marshmallows they looked lovely! Showers closed for covid but toilet block was fine with drinking water available. Short drive to Seaford where we did the seven sisters walk :) will be back

Great spot! would definitely come again.
Lovely spot with fantastic views, plenty of space and friendly people. Beautiful countryside to explore on foot or by bike. A real relaxed and happy feel about the site. sll the facilities were of a good standard and well maintained. I could not have asked for more, the kids and I had a great time, despite the weather🤣🌧🤣

Fun and pretty
Only had a short stay but the views were great and the host lady was very friendly, highly recommend:)

Lovely quiet campsite
Lovely campsite, very spacious with amazing views. Loads of space for kids.
★★★★★
Great night camping.
Really enjoyed our stay here. There was a relaxed vibe, plenty of space, views across the hills to the sea and friendly hosts. What's not to love - I will be back!
★★★★★
Great friendly place
Really nicely placed on the top of the hill with views across the channel. Friendly staff who are always on hand with a smile. It’s a basic site so do not expect 5 star luxury , but all basic requirements are on hand. Would definitely book again
★★★★☆
Lovely place
Lovely place, beautiful views, basic facilities, which it does well. Quite far from amenities and shops, which we liked. But may not be everyone’s preference. Pitches are allocated and can be chosen on arrival, which works well. No showers when we there due to Covid. Everything else works well. And is well organised. Few facilities for kids eg playground but again that’s possibly in its favour.
★★★★★
Safe friendly beautiful
Spent 3 very hot days here .Lovely site with very friendly efficient managers .It was busy but not crowded as the pitches are spacious and facilities were clean. The breakfast hamper was fantastic the best sausages I have tasted .We would definitely come back.
★★★★★
Beautiful setting
We stayed for 6 nights at the end of July/beginning of August as a family with two young boys. As all the other reviews say, it’s a really beautiful spot, with amazing views and a rural, remote feel. The children loved the sheep and running around the field which had lots of space in the middle. Only two toilets but even with a ‘full’ Camp site we never had to queue. No showers at the moment but we bought a portable shower which did the job. We had some high winds for a couple of hours each day so be prepared. Justine and Mandy were extremely helpful! We enjoyed the BBQ pack, marshmallows and eggs. They even provided milk regularly for my littlest. The beach is a fair walk with children but we managed it a few times and loved it. Easy to drive there or other coastal areas. We camped in the corner near the trees so felt like we had a bit of privacy. A wonderful camping trip overall and I would highly recommend the site!
★★★★★
Simple, nice campsite in beautiful location
I camped with a group of friends and had a great time! The views across the sea and fields were beautiful and the facilities were kept very clean. It's also within a short drive of lots of nice pubs and restaurants in nearby Lewes and neighbouring villages. The campsite was peaceful and quiet at night time which meant I slept really well. We purchased the breakfast packages and cooked them on a firepit which we hired from Mandy, this was a really nice touch!
★★★★★
A maze ing
This camp site is exactly what camping is all about. Stunning views, simple and peaceful. The facilities are brilliant and kept fabulously clean by Mandy. The beach is walkable but could a little far for little ones. Kids loved the sheep around us and named a couple! Just a stunning place to camp.
★★★★★
Perfect for a couple of days away y with the children
We have just returned from 2 nights at Stud Farm and we had great time. There is so much space surrounded by sheep fields with views of the sea. Theres tons of room for kids to run about safely and it is a walk, albeit a long walk to the beach. It took us 40 minutes to walk with two 3 year olds so adults at a decent pace would probably be more like 25/30mins. It was so hot on our trip so the wind in the evening and the height of the site high in the Downs was ideal. Mandy delivered our fire pit, wood, breakfast pack and sausages quickly and with a smile. The facilities are basic and there was no shower because of Covid but it wasn't an issue for the two nights. The water pressure is sometimes hit and miss but again its worth having a wait for the water because you are in a lovely, quiet and safe site. We will definitely visit again.
★★★★★
Clean, spacious, beautiful, great staff.
As we couldn't get to our festivals this year, we opted for a night's stay at Stud Farm. Beautiful views with a welcome breeze in this extreme heat. Clean toilets and a lovely staff member, I think her name was Mandy, she welcomed us to the campsite with the fire pit we ordered within 10 minutes of our arrival. Thanks for having us. We'll be back I'm sure ..👍

This is such a peaceful campsite and not at all rammed! The views are just to die for. The walk to the beach is stunning just take water for the kids to drink! Loved the sheep around the site, the kids named them!! Toilets were brilliant and Mandy was always on hand to sort any issues. Will definitely return - thank you Mandy for being soooo helpful and welcoming.
★★★★★
Perfect view of the sea!
We were lucky enough to be staying on pitch 1 so we had a perfect view of the sea and enjoyed watching the moon rise in the evening. The site was peaceful and the hamper we ordered was amazing, especially the sausages and the kids loved toasting the giant marshmallows in the evening. Great for walks in all directions. Saltdean was pebbly but not too overcrowded even though the weather was hot. We got to swim in the sea without getting hyperthermia! Lastly the the lady who checked us in was lovely and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of surrounding areas. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
★★★★★
A stunning Panorama
The panoramic views of the South Downs and the white cliffs from this camp site are worth the trip alone, but en route to Stud Farm you’re also gifted a drive through rolling hills, along roman routes and medieval hamlets. The camp site provides everything you need for a simple camping experience; male and female toilets, shower, sinks for the washing up, and drinking water (note the hose get very warm in the sun) and we had a huge pitch to ourselves due to current social distancing regulations. There are many walks from the site, north and east over the downs, west and south to the coast. We opted for a 40 minute amble to a cute small town of Saltdean. Here is a reasonable sized family friendly pebbly beach at the foot of the chalk cliffs and some of the best pizza I’ve had in the UK at V.I.P (Very Important Pizza). In closing, Stud Farm is perfectly placed over looking a stunning part of Britain. Equidistant between the countryside and the beach. We stayed for two nights, and enjoyed two amazing sunsets (and one sunrise!). We hired a BBQ and a large fire pit for when it got chilly. The local meat was amazing, pork sausages and beef burgers for the barby, although, not much in local produce for our veggie friends (but there are a coouple of stores within a 20 minute drive). The staff were very accommodating and check in / out was breeze. Many thanks for the stay guys, wholly recommended.
★★★★★
Simple and beautiful
The views of the rolling South Downs and the chalk white coastal cliffs are worth the trip to this campsite alone. But en route, you're treated to windy sun dappled roads, undulating roman paths and tiny medieval hamlets. The site itself has everything you need for a basic camping experience. Male and female toilets, shower, sinks for the washing up and drinking water (the pipes get hot in the sun BTW). We hired a BBQ and a large fire pit to boot. There are many recommended walks from the site and we opted for a 40 minute one that took us down to a family friendly pebbly beach at the foot of the cliffs at Saltdean. FYI there is an amazing pizza place in town called V.I.P (Very Impotrant Pizza). In closing, this campsite is perfectly located with unparalleled panoramic coastal vistas. Stunning sun rises and sun sets. The staff are very friendly, its affordable and doesn't leave you wanting, maybe only down side is that you have to take all your rubbish with you, but thats a small price to pay for a Stud Farm stay. Thanks.
★★★★★
That was awesome, we need to go there again.
That's what my son said as we drove away from the site. The site was very clean and the pitch size was great. The toilets were also kept clean and the soap etc had been topped up by 7am in the morning. Had reservation about the distance to the toilets after reading a previous review, however when we arrived they aren't that far away. The only downside is that at peak times the water pressure drops, but as the site warn you of this you can easily plan around this. Stunning views during the day and night, with great walks all around. The long track, keeps you away from the roads and yet the town isn't that far to drive for food etc. The great thing with camping is the social etiquette and Mandy greeted us with the same wonderful joy. Highly recommend for families with children and dogs.
★★★★★
Beautiful location
This campsite is in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the ocean. Very friendly and helpful staff. The toilets were clean and stocked well with loo roll, soap and paper hand towels. I would recommend this place.
★★★★★
Beautiful views and campsite
Campsite has the most wonderful view over the hills and down to the sea, was very windy though but that’s to be expected! We took a walk over the fields down to the beach which was so beautiful, and took the bus into Brighton one day - very easy and so lovely there too Toilets were really clean and always had toilet paper etc
★★★★★
Relaxed atmosphere and great views
Loved the laid back feel here. Excellent sized pitches and amazing views all around... sea and the South Downs. Excellent for people with dogs - the walks are straight from the site and wonderful. We had lovely burgers and sausages- yum! Loos are clean- and site well kept. 10/10 from us!
★★★★★
Great week
Had a great week camping. The views are amazing and it’s a loverly walk down to the beach where you can easily catch a 20 min bus to Brighton. Toilets were very clean and we all had an amazing time. We were met within 10 mins on arrival and everything we ordered given to us. Great campsite with amazing views.
★★★★★
Great campsite, good value and beautiful views
The view from the campsite over the sea has to be one of the best I’ve seen in the UK. A short 20-30min walk to the beach or a 15 min drive to the bigger beach at Seaford which has free parking and is great to swim/kayak etc. Did a walk along the South Downs to the Abergavenny Arms Pub which was hilly but lovely (around 45min each way) The pitches are spacious and the toilet block always clean. Owners/staff drive round with extra fire wood and I would recommend hiring/bringing a fire pit or come the evening you’ll feel jealous of the surrounding campers with their fires, marshmallows etc! With the hill views does come some wind, first day it was really strong, definitely check you have guide-ropes for tents and Wind breaks. The second & third days were a lot calmer. 10/10 we will be visiting again!

Nice,basic campsite with lovely views.
It was a treat to get away from our small flat in London for the first time in a very long time and meet friends for a socially distanced picnic in Saltdean beach and a great big walk around area and to Rodmell and back on a very hot day! My children said it was fun and I enjoyed the sense of freedom. Missed the showers as off due to Covid 19. Loos clean and well managed. We backpacked and came by train. Generally quiet, and most campers very nice. Mainly familys. But with a bit of roudyness on our last night,(Thurs) from a couple of bunches of younger late teens people in larger groups at different ends of the site. One all female and noisy and one, mainly male, and yes, as the previous reviewer says, the male group was smoking drugs, skunk,as the smell was strong. I decided to ignore it and them as it fizzled out at some point in the late evening. And the hard ground, wind, sheep, rooks, wood pigeons and other wildlife had kept me awake the other nights! Though my children slept like logs, it's been several years since I've attempted camping, but I would do it again. Great to get away for a change of scene and what a beautiful spot. Thank you,it was much appreciated.
★★★★☆
Simple and relaxed camping in an amazing location.
Myself and my two children,10 and 13 yrs old, back packed here and enjoyed the clean and friendly camping with plenty of space and wonderful views, especially at sunset. Fun was the word from my children and I felt the freedom. So thank you very much.
★★★★★
Lovely spot on the south coast
Beautiful location and really well-placed, only a few miles from Brighton and a short walk to the sea. We got lucky with the weather and thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and kindling, and the pitches are spaced out enough that you feel left alone which is ideal. Not sure if that will change post-Covid, but for now it's great!! Go to the Smuggler's Rest 2.5km away down the walking path, and if it's not raining, sit outside - the views are stunning!
★★★★☆
Amazingly helpful managers
We had a couple of days of high winds, which were so forceful it wrecked our tent. The manager kindly rang me to let me know my tent wasn't coping with the weather. Toilet facilities clean but few for the numbers when it fills up. A few groups of young lads smoking dope, doing nitrous, drinking, making themselves sick. No electronic music late. Lovely location, if you are lucky with the weather there are potentially sea views up on the ridge. Slight festival vibe. Had more peaceful camps, perfect for younger folk looking to enjoy time away from nagging parents
Response from Stud Farm Telscombe Village
Alice I am sorry that you experienced a group of young people getting up to the list of activities, for want of a better word, that you have suggested. We do stress to people that if we are not alerted to this after hours then we cannot do anything about it! If we had been aware then they would have been asked to leave immediately.
Our camp site certainly does not have a festival vibe and is geared towards family groups and backpackers. It is a peaceful and scenic back to basics site.
However you will always get the odd group that have different ideas and if they are breaking our campsite rules then we would deal with them but we can only do that if we know about it!
Due to the most unusual and challenging year that teenagers have had we have been overwhelmed with requests from them and their parents to be allowed to get together and camp with the friends they have been unable to see for many months. We felt that it was important to allow these groups this opportunity and 99% of them have been amazing but unfortunately you will always get the 1% that abuse your trust.

Friendly, accomodating and with great views
Fantastic stay at Stud Farm, great views and a lovely walk to the beach. Lots of lovely pubs nearby also to walk to. Mandy was super friendly and really helpful - thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Tasty sausages and eggs you can pre-order and lots of open space between pitches, very clean facilities, will definately be returning!!
★★★★★
Friendly and laid back campsite
Lovely walk to the beach from the campsite, Mandy is very friendly and delivered our fire pit and logs. The campsite were very accommodating and very spacious as not many tents which is ideal! Very clean toilets and washing up area which was especially important in Covid times. We really enjoyed the break away and it is not far from Brighton. Beautiful views from the top of the field to the sea, beautiful views of the South Downs fro other areas of the campsite.
★★★★★
Lovely spot, access to great walks, sea and supermarket!
This was a nice spot with a view of the sea and the hills. We got a really nice warm welcome from Mandy. Nice big pitches, fire pit and yummy marshmallows available. Toilets clean (no showers because of Covid). Also very handy walkable to Tesco for supplies, and a track walk down to the sea. We recommend the Smugglers Inn for a pub lunch with a sea view!
★★★★★
Nice view
It is a relativley small campsite, and therefore not overcrowded. The camp site has a beautiful view. We also liked that facilities were very clean, much cleaner than we've seen in other places. It is quite windy though, so it's better to pitch your tent near the trees rather than on the side with the view on the sea.
★★★★★
Lovely spot
Great location to explore ! Simple no frills site . Mandy was very helpful . It would be great if there was a place to leave rubbish but other than that overall great stay with lovely views !
★★★★★
Gorgeous views, lovely camp
Really relaxing campsite to take in beautiful views all around. Had a great stay and would highly recommend.
★★★★★
Great little camp site with nice views and which does all the basics very well!
Great camp site in the South Downs a 25 min stroll to Saltdean beach or the pub, walks off the campsite and a short hop to Lewes. Nice owners and does all the basics - the option for farm produce is great (tasty country bacon and eggs!) Highly recommended
★★★★★
Beautiful place, great experience
Fantastic location, very spacious with great walks, close to the sea - amazing scenery. Seamless check in system and everything was well geared to the new Covid requirements. Very friendly hosts. Highly recommended.
★★★★☆
Friendly owner and glorious views
Simple site - a field on top of the Downs - but with stunning views of the countryside. Lots of walks from the site. Windy.
★★★★★
Great location and service
Loved the location - amazing views and nice walks down to the sea. Everything clearly set out and (due to covid restrictions), lots of space between pitches. Check in worked really well and the service provided was excellent whilst not being overbearing.
★★★★★
Beautiful. Peaceful. Breathtaking.
The area is absolutely beautiful. High up on the downs, you have a wonderful view of the fillings hills, sheep and sea. A wonderful place to go walking or even just staying put and taking up the lovely views. I’m going to book again and come back.
★★★★★
Special evening away
Stud farm was an absolutely perfect place to have an evening away, especially during covid. The campsite allows you to be private but still has a nice communal feel about it. The check in routine is very straightforward and well organised, we were given everything we ordered promptly. The views around the site are stunning and there is ample opportunity for a nice walk around the hills. I will definitely come back to Stud farm.
★★★★★
Delightful
We stayed for 3 days / 2 nights in July 2020. The large hill top field has commanding views of the sea, coastal communities and countryside. The pitch was about 15 metres square (due to covid restrictions) and easily accommodated large tents and a vehicle. The portacabin toilet block was clean and tidy, though about 500 metres away if you pitched at the other side of the field. Nice walks around the site area. Staff and sheep were super friendly. Highly recommended.
★★★★★
Well-maintained site with an amazing view
It's a really beautiful site, with almost all-around views of surrounding hills and the sea. Even the drive to the site is along an impossibly picturesque road. It's a great starting point for walks either down to the sea or along the South Downs. Fire pit rental and fire starter kit were very reasonably priced and well worth it for us. The toilets were very clean and the whole site is very well-maintained. Showers were closed as a Covid precaution, but I'd imagine they aren't very good as water pressure in the taps is very low. The people running the site do regular rounds and and were very nice but also unobtrusive. I hope we come back soon!
★★★★★
Great escape from the city
Good pitches, spacious, amazing view, good facilities, friendly and great service. We arrived quite late, which was not a problem - the hosts were easy to get in touch with and provided the useful fire kit that we had booked beforehand. Highly recommended!
★★★★★
Lovely few days beside the sea
I stayed at Stud Farm for one night in July 2020. We had an absolutely fabulous time. The camp site is really easy to find and we were met on arrival and given instructions about where to set up. The camp site is run really well and it is a lovely touch that you can have fresh food delivered at breakfast or dinner time, the food was delicious! Stud Farm is also in a brilliant place, the views are spectacular and you can easily walk down the hill to the pubs at Telescombe Cliffs. You are also located really close to Lewes if you need to get to a shop and Brighton for a day out. We will definitely be staying again, thank you!!
★★★★★
Great location, lovely site
This is a fantastic campsite and is exactly as described. The location is beautiful, with views of the hills and the sea. It is spacious and peaceful. We walked to the beach and ventured a bit further by car. The campsite food deliveries were just right and the bacon, eggs and sausages were all delicious. We enjoyed melting marshmallows around the fire pit. The staff were really helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The loos and washing up area was spotlessly clean and it was easy to social distance as the site is spacious. The closed showers may be a problem if you want a longer stay but maybe a swim in the sea will be the thing!
★★★★★
Beautiful well run place.
A beautiful spot on the cliff top (very windy) surrounded by sheep & gorgeous views down to the sea. The staff were super friendly and helpful, but also leave you alone to do your own thing. Clean toilets, good facilities. We'd definitely go back again.
★★★★★
views and walks
Every campsite needs a Mandy...friendly helpful knowledgeable, fun. Gorgeous views, great location, clean and tidy. Fabulous. Thank.you
★★★★★
Lovely spot
Really nice camping location. Simple but enough facilities if you want a proper camping experience. Elevated position so sea views one side and rolling hills the other. Surrounded by wildlife so felt very rural and just the job for a ‘getting away from it all’ feel. Would definitely go back.
★★★★★
Beautiful Spot, excellent location
Beautiful spot with incredible views, clean, very friendly management that came by a couple of times during our stay to make sure we had all that's needed. We'll be back for sure.
★★★★★
Quiet, clean, good location - great bacon and sausage!
Does what it says on the tin and does it well.
★★★★★
Lovely stay
The campsite was in a lovely location, was nice to have a sea view. It was very convenient to have a fire kit and pit delivered by the hosts . Great location for walking part of the south downs way . The showers and toilets were clean and better than I'd expect for a campsite on the top of the downs!
★★★★★
Wow, wow, wow - beautiful place
Words cannot describe what a stunning place this is. We spent 4 nights here and really did not want to leave. Justine and Ross were amazing, so helpful, friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Very dog friendly, and horse friendly as our daughters pony also came on holiday with us:)) The showers were absolutely immaculate, always clean and tidy as were the toilets. Stunning views in a stunning location on the South Downs. You can walk / ride / cycle for miles - highly recommend walking to the local pub - bit of a hike, but well worth it. Easy access via bus to Brighton town, approx 20 minutes for a day out. If you are wanting a relaxing few days away from the rat race, Stud Farm is an absolute must, highly, highly recommend - thank you Justine and Ross - we will be back:)

Beautiful views
Situated at the end of a single-track lane, this is a simple camp site arrangement in a spectacular location. There are views across the Ouse valley and South Downs to the east and a complete coastline view to the south. It’s quite an exposed location and we witnessed a few people departing early with broken tents which were either pitched incorrectly or generally not up to much more than braving rain on a festival site. It was very nice to see the friendly campsite owner periodically checking on people, fixing their tents over the weekend. The little things that possibly go unnoticed to the absent campers, probably kept a few of their tents in the ground and prevented a number from breaking. We stayed on a particularly quiet weekend and the hardest part for us was deciding where to park up. The site is undulating, so you do need to find the level spots if you’re in a camper van and there aren’t too many level areas. In terms of facilities, I think it was thoughtful to have bags and a bin and set aside for dog owners. The toilets were spotless and the showers too; the additional portaloos were always clean throughout the weekend. The loos are quite popular with walkers and general visitors to the site that appear and drive off again too. In terms of driving off, we had a late night visitor park up 6 feet from us, enjoy the facilities and then drive off at dawn.

What a view
The location of the campsite is fab, and the views what you wake up with are just amazing for as far as the eye can see. It's a short drive into Brighton but far enough away to give you the peace and quiet that rural campsites offer. We stayed for one night, the owners were very welcoming, they offer fire pits and breakfast packages filled with local produce. The camp site itself is very basic, there is a toilet and shower block at the end of the field, it houses two toilets for the men, two toilets for the women a shower for the women and a unisex shower. There is a very small washing up shelve and a water tap. The water pressure is a bit of an issue but they have provided guidance of the best times to use the facilities. The facilities are cleaned regularly throughout the day. We had a very pleasant stay at the stud farm campsite, the only negatives were regarding the water pressure. The camp site may benefit from gas powered showers which would improve the water pressure and allow people to use the facilities anytime of the day.

great views and spacious field
we pitched about 1/2 down the field away from the toilet/shower both to avoid other pitches and people going back and forth. The top end, by the toilet, has the view of the sea and the bottom end of rolling hills and fields -in hindsight we'd have taken the bottom as view were mildly obscured as the field filled up over Friday and Saturday. Whilst the South Downs way is near, its a walk along a long road to reach it but this didn't stop us clocking up 15km on the Saturday; visiting both the Telscombe cliffs and pub in Rodmell. All in all a good site though with toilets at one end it did force our hand wrt our pitch (unless you like a little hike before you pee). I'd return for the campsite but no necessarily for the local routes to explore

Perfect bank holiday adventure.
Really enjoyed our experience at stud farm. Easy, simple and affordable. We were on our way through bike packing and we slept soundly. We enjoyed the great views, clean facilities and easy set up.

Basic camping with gorgeous views
We hired the bell tent, which was a real treat to have it set up on arrival with a very comfy double bed and inflatable single beds for the children. It come with two camping chairs, small table and fairy lights. Plus the tent had been debugged! Note that the bell tent is near the entrance to the field and on the bottom of the slope, meaning it doesn't get the sea views and cars entering the field can be quite loud. However, because of the trees it isn't as windy. Justine was very helpful and accommodating, coming over to chat throughout our stay and bringing milk when we ran out. There are two loos (one without a working lock) and a shower. The showers were hit and miss whether they would be either working or hot - depending on who else is using the water in the block (including washing up). You have to take your bins away, which is a hassle, but you are told about this upfront, so mustn't grumble. There isn't much traffic going up and down the road and so you get enjoy the lambs bleating, the song birds and the wind through the trees. The view is stunning. All tents are situated around the field leaving the centre free for children to play, there is also a communal fire pit and logs to sit on. The loo block was visible from the whole field so relaxing to let the children run around and know that they were safe and in sight. There isn't much to do in the direct vicinity. There is a Tesco extra a 15 minute walk away and a park. But if you're coming here for a relaxing break, to enjoy the view, nature and sit around a field. It's fab. The children commented they would like more for them to do, but enjoyed it nevertheless.

The Peace
Loved the site. It was perfect for meeting up with friends from Brighton and Eastbourne. Though a basic site, the place is truly enchanting and I will definitely be returning.

Relaxed and scenic campsite in Sussex Downs
We camped over a busy August bank holiday but even with maximum capacity there is enough space to spread out and not feel on top of your neighbours. Fine views of the sea and the downs but as a result is rather exposed to the elements although there is a tree lined shelter down one side of the field which offers slightly more protection. The site has a lovely peaceful feel where groups, family's, couples, and dogs can all enjoy the experience. Yes the site is basic but that is the joy of it. There is everything you need and Justine the owner is fantastic and most accommodating if you get in a pickle or forget something. Do order her breakfast or bbq packs - all meat organic and home reared from her farm. Delicious! plus fresh laid free range eggs. Heavenly! The sausages get a massive thumbs up too. Word of advice - bring strong tent pegs and lots of spares - the ground is very hard and rocky. Plus a good mallet!

Gorgeous views of n a back to basics site
Lovely and simple site. Clean, stocked toilets. Nice touch with the washing up bowls and drying racks. The view was the highlight however!! The only downside was we felt a little squashed in (it was a bank holiday though) and it could do with clearer rules about amplified music and rowdy teenagers after 11pm, the two weren’t related! Both are fine if you know that’s what you are getting but I’m old and like to relax in relative peace and quiet! It didn’t really detract from what was a great stay though.

Needs more facilities
We camped at this camping, and the view Is good and the place is nice, but there aren't enough facilities. There is one cold water tap and 3 dirty portable loo's. That's it. It felt more like they were trying to earn some easy money, than that they were trying offer a nice camping site.

Rural simplicity, with ocean views
The Stud Farm site is beautiful - a generous sized field means that there’s loads of space, and the surrounding views are fabulous. There’s fantastic walks from the site both through the Downs and to the coast. Facilities were clean but simple. There’s no shower, although we all had fun washing with buckets of (warm) water. Great produce available for breakfasts and Barbeques. We loved it here and will definitely come back

Peace and tranquility
Stayed at Stud Farm this weekend with my 15 year old. We wanted a quiet get away and thats exactly what we got. The field is a bit sloping in parts but if you pitch around the edge its ok. We got a space with a sea view which was lovely. Justine met us as we were setting up an brought the fire pit, wood eggs and bacon we pre ordered. On the saturday we walked down to the coast and then into Brighton (not for the feint hearted!). We got the bus back and stopped at the Smugglers Rest pub for a drink before the walk back to the farm. Its very peaceful with just the noise of the sheep and birds to keep you company. The facilities are basic which is what I expected however I'm not sure 3 portaloos is enough for the number of pitches available. Would definitely recommend this place and hope to go back real soon.

Views and relaxed environment
As described this is a basic facility campsite but excellent views with walking opportunities. 20 minutes walk across fields to the sea front. It benefits from being a mainly family and couples site so it is quiet and relaxed. A large field so even when fully booked there is still space (less so at the top of the field) even over the start of school break weekend. Would return again.

Beautiful back to basics site
This is just a field with a tap and a couple of portaloos! However the views are amazing and there are great walks and cafes nearby. You can also walk down to the main road and get the bus into Brighton. Justine was really friendly and helpful, and you can have a campfire which is great! Would definitely recommend staying here if you don't mind a basic camping experience.

Simple campsite with a sea view
Back to basics - just a field with a sea view. Lovely to be able to have a fire pit and/or BBQ. Arrive early to get a spot looking out to sea. Justine and Lucy were very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the sea (~20 mins) - turn right at the coast and go to Saltdean beach where there is a cafe (rather than left towards Telscombe Cliffs beach where there is a wastewater treatment works...!). The portaloos were surprisingly nice and clean (although did run out of loo roll at one point). No shower but if you get hot and sweaty you can go for a dip in the sea. It would have been nice if the BBQ/breakfast packs came in a size small enough for two people.

All you need for a easy weekend
We brought our VW Camper here and really loved it. It may only have basic facilities (well stocked with loo roll, lights and soap however :D) but as a young couple with no where to be apart from a pub for the football, this camp site was perfect. It's in a lovely location and only a 10 minute walk away from the nearest bus stop to get in to Brighton, and the buses run pretty much all night so getting back wasn't a problem either. Justine was quick to respond to our emails and really helpful when we asked about local transport etc. There's plenty of room for you to pitch up wherever you like and even a communal firepit to enjoy. Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy one of the breakfast or BBQ hampers, but next time we're on the south coast we will definitely be back at Stud Farm. A perfect place to just enjoy life's simple pleasures :)

peaceful, great location
Very nice site with great views. Friendly and helpful owner. Portaloos were rather stinky after the bank holiday, but I expect this is a temporary thing!

Beautiful setting
The facilities are basic but the view and setting are truly beautiful. Good location - we parked in Lewes and caught the train into Brighton which made for a hassle free day out. Very peaceful campsite, awesome setting, we will return!

Beautifull Site
Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay here, it was peaceful and quiet. The host was very friendly and helpful. Loved having the dogs and open fire... It is exactly as described.

Lovely views
Great spot in a lovely part of the world. Our only ask would be to please add a shower - very basic would be fine. I suspect it’s quite hard to do which is why they haven’t. But it’s a lovely site with great sausages from the farm!

Lovely views but under supported
We were a bit disappointed that the campsite was quite so basic given how much they charge. I love a "basics only" campsite but wouldn't normal expect to pay top dollar for it. When the site ended up being filled by almost twice as many campers as advertised online we found the porta-loos and lack of showers felt less "off the beaten track" and more penny pinching. Nonetheless a lovely location.

Switch off and enjoy the views
This campsite was an excellent choice for the weekend. The combined views over the sublime South Downs and the sea were only bettered by the lambs playing merrily in the adjacent field. As a Londoner, this offered the perfect break over a BH weekend. We took advantage of the breakfast hamper and were delighted we did. Real food, real taste. This is a basic campsite in terms of facilities but a 5 star experience in terms of camping. Justine limits the number of the field so there’s a lot of space and solitude. We combined the country with the city by taking the bus from Telscombe Cliffs to Brighton. We avoided the parking mayhem and were able to enjoy the pubs. I’d recommend booking here. Who needs a shower when you have a bucket of water to tip over your head.

Amazing place, awful description
Have always been a follower of Stud Farm in Telscombe Village, especially horse racing and have been to many of the open days over the years and was surprised to see that whoever wrote this said that horse racing no longer takes place at the farm. As a long time follower of the two, I also saw that you failed to mention how Jamie and Camilla won many races around the world with horses trained at this location, crocodile Dundee or Land N Stars to name a few in races such as the Melbourne cup and Dubai. It might be that you are ignorant on this but it is certainly what brought such great attention to the farm and their success lives on. As still a follower of camilla and her current progress in achieving her license I know she is still training horses at these facilities and think it is an insult to her that it has failed to be mentioned. It is very much an insult to the yard to call it as a livery yard, it is a racing yard and I think it should be known as that. It has not as you say “hung up it’s horse racing shoes”. I think camilla needs recognition for the following she has built as she is truly an amazing amazing person and a gift to the horse racing world.
