The campsite is on the edge of the Pont Calleck forest and the banks of the Scorff River. Walking, fishing and kayaking are all possible from the site. Maison de la Chauve-souris, a small museum dedicated to bats, is a five-minute drive from the campsite in Kernasclédon. The town is also home to an impressively large church that’s worth a look. There’s more animal entertainment at Chez Dame Nature (13 kilometres away), a farm park with sheep, goats, alpacas and wallabies among its residents. The coast is half an hour away, but there’s a lake at Priziac (14 kilometres from the campsite) where you can try watersports. Priziac is also where you’ll find Le Stérou wildlife park. If you do want to visit the coast, head for the coastal city of Lorient where there are five beaches to choose from.
Food & Drink
In the summer months there is a traditional Breton evening with music and galettes (savoury crepes) served on site on Wednesdays. There is a restaurant, Auberge de Pont Calleck, 800 metres from the campsite. Lorient’s famous fish market is the place to head to for fresh seafood and there are general markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
