Margaret and John are new to camping, but they’re no strangers to hospitality. In a bid to enjoy a more serene lifestyle, they found this small collection of farmhouses, which they converted into a lovely B&B, activities area, and a couple of budget rooms.
They wondered what they could do with the two huge fields before hitting on it: camping! One field is too steep to pitch on, but the other rises to a fantastic plateau that gives panoramic views over the Pyrénées, the village of Aramits, and beyond.
It’s a short walk to toilets and showers, but you can play all you like in a wonderful games room (with darts board, pool table, computer, wi-fi, TV, and more besides), an equipped kitchen area, and a large covered activities room with a volleyball court, climbing wall, gym, and table tennis. Oh, and did we mention the large outdoor pool?
Spain is just 15 minutes away and there’s plenty to do in the area, from visiting the second-largest cave complex in the world to hiking along the St Jacques de Compostelle path (Santiago de Compostela). Green to camping they may be, but Margaret and John have already got it all sewn up.
