The Owner Says
Visitors to Manzac Adults Only campsite, whether in caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents or car-based tent campers, will be delighted by our six "hard-standing" pitches, set amongst oak woodland by our traditional 16th century farmhouse.
These six pitches are large and spacious (approx 8m by 8m), with enough room to accommodate a caravan with awning or a large tent, as well as a vehicle.
Each pitch is separated from its neighbour by a grassy area, and they offer varying degrees of shade depending on your needs.
We always do our best to accommodate guests requests for shady or sunnier spots, subject to availability of course.
Whilst these pitches are primarily for caravan and motorhome owners, they are also very popular with campers, as they offer plenty of space and the convenience that comes with being able to pop your car on your pitch.
Fine loose pink rock chippings on these pitches offer a stable and flat surface for caravans and motorhomes, whilst also being suitable for tent or awning pegs.

Nearby, the ancient network of caves at Villars are home to some remarkable prehistoric paintings. You can also visit the battlefield where Richard the Lionheart was killed, in nearby Châlus. The village of Nontron (home of the famous folding-knife) is well worth a visit. If visiting in July, be sure to find out where in Périgord the annual Félibrée will be taking place. This celebration of Occitan language and culture is a huge occasion for the region, with the chosen town decorated with vibrant flowers, as revellers enjoy traditional music, dancing and singing along with Occitan dishes and drink.
Food & DrinkThere are plenty of excellent eateries just a short drive from the site. Your hosts are full of decent recommendations and are more than happy to call ahead for reservations. Nontron, 10 minutes away, is home to three large supermarkets that are open all day, while you can stock up on some of the region's celebrated produce at the Piégut market, which runs every Wednesday morning. There are also two excellent bakeries within a five minute drive for fresh croissants in the morning.

Detailed directions on the website. GPS co-ordinates are as follows: 45.56199, 0.71948 (decimal) or 45deg 33'43.07"N 0deg 43'10.05"E - but they recommend guests take a look at instructions as GPS devices have a habit of taking guests through towns that may not be caravan or motorhome suitable! A bit tricky to reach by public transport. The nearest train station is Angouleme, a 45km drive away. Folks on a cycling holiday would be able to manage this, but there are no viable bus routes nearby.
