Vintage VW campervan hire with a handy location for exploring much of Scotland

Head for the Highlands in a vintage VW van with a hire from Ochil Classic Campers. The name of this campervan hire company is not, as first glance might suggest, an instruction to relax – ‘o chill’ – but based on their location in Scotland’s Ochil Hills. This base, an hour north of Edinburgh, is a good one for anyone wanting to explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, St Andrews and the Fife Coast or the Highlands as all are within an hour’s drive. And if you’re nervous about planning your road trip and choosing places to stay, don’t worry; the friendly folk at Ochil got into this business to share their love of campervanning in this part of the world. They will not only offer you tips on where to stay but are happy to tailor-make a road trip for you; just say the word. The beauty here is not limited to the stunning scenery you’re likely to come across but comes with the van you’ll be driving too, a well-kept, converted 1970s vintage van that’s fun to drive and the perfect place to chill when you’ve found your place to park up for the night.

The Owner Says

The business was formed from our passion for the iconic VW aircooled campervan, combined with the love of the beautiful Scottish scenery that surrounds us.

We wanted to share the memorable holidays and experiences that we have enjoyed whilst travelling Scotland in a VW campervan.

With this in mind, we offer a personal service that can include planning your itinerary or offering suggestions of places to visit. Remember you are not limited to campsites in Scotland, as wild camping is allowed providing you follow the basic country code.

We relish the challenge of arranging a tailor made roadtrip in Scotland just for you. If you can imagine it, we can help make it a reality.

The Ochil Hills form part of the gateway to the Highlands, and is a perfect base to explore the awe inspiring scenery and vibrant culture that showcases all that is great about Scotland. Within 1 hours drive from our base you can be in The Trossachs National Park and Loch Lomond, St Andrews and the Fife coast to name but a few locations on our doorstep.

We think our VW campervans have all the fittings and fixtures to make it feel like home (albeit on 4 wheels), so you only need to bring yourself and some ambitious travel ideas.
