Rented Saffron for a few days. Lovely experience & a proper adventure around South Downs. Krystyna was super helpful and accommodating (we forgot our bedding and she kindly lent us some). Everything was well organised and punctual. Saffron is in great condition and has everything you’ll need for a campervan adventure: We’ll be back again :)

Life in the slow a good way-)

We hired Izzy for 5 nights and had a fabulous experience in her. She is proper retro! Original inside still, quirky and great fun. You will get loads of admirers and feel instantly famous in her! Be ready to build up your muscles if you are driving - with no power steering she takes a fair bit of muscle power to get her around in tight spots, but it is really all part of the fun. She is very reliable, starting up every time first time, whatever the weather - we had a couple of damp mornings. Highlight was the cooker. Able to cook up anything from a 5 piece cooked breakfast whilst keeping everything hot, to simply boiling your water for a cuppa in the morning. And the beauty of being able to swing the cooker out so you had more room inside. The owners have provided some handy accessories which made a difference - sharp knives, sounds simple but so many times we go away to places and the knives are nearly blunt. Collapsible sink - made it easier to carry dishes and get them washed at campsites. Mattress topper - provided a little more comfort for sleeping. We hired the awning, which was brilliant when staying anywhere for 2 nights or more. Gave just some more space, and somewhere to sit in the evening when the weather wasn’t quite what we were hoping for in August, but still felt like nearly outside! Relatively easy to put up, the owners have simplified it by putting on colored sticky dots to the poles so you know what goes where for the frame. Hardest part was putting the pegs in, but that was more about the type of pitch we were on than the pegs! The pop up roof was great - being able to stand up in Izzy was super, and gave a real sense of more space. Easy to operate. Thoroughly recommend hiring her out

Childhood Dream

We hired Hugo (we love and miss you Hugo!) for three nights and immediately we all fell in love! Hugo is an absolutely gorgeous slice of history and the experience was magic. We made wonderful family memories that we will all cherish forever. Our four year old son struggled to part with Hugo (so did I!) upon our return. We enjoyed the experience of staying on Blakes' Farm for the first night and our young son was amused and entertained by the goats and other animals visible from the camping zone. We also spent quality family time playing games that I had not seen for many years! The facilities were well thought out with a covered eating and cooking area as well as a shaded seating and fire pit area. The views were very pretty and the warm outdoor shower is an experience not to be missed! Krystyna and Bruce were very accommodating from start to finish and even made sure to call us back immediately when we had a technical question to ask. Hugo was a pleasure to drive and definitely a conversation starter as we drove around! It was great to experience what driving was like in 1978! The interior fridge, cooker, sink, split roof and bed were easy to use and comfortable to sleep on. Hugo was well maintained and well equipped including charging points for mod cons and internal lights. If this has been something you have wanted to do you will not be disappointed!

Cosy camper with a sunny disposition

My family booked Saffron for a surprise glamping weekend to mark my 60th. Easy to drive and easy on the eye she gets honks of approval and appreciative waves wherever she goes - it's like you've secretly joined the classic car club. Inside is immaculate with a retro look mixed with modern comforts like 2-ring hob, sink with running water, phone chargers and bluetooth audio. It is deceptively roomy for a family of four by day, quickly converting into a cosy bedroom for 2 by night. The pop up side tent slept our 2 grown up kids comfortably and was really quick and easy to put up. Thanks too to Krystyna for her excellent communication, help and advice pre- and post-booking. All in all great fun.
