With a pick-up spot ideally situated a short drive away from the south coast in Sussex, 'Tor' the VW T6 Highline and 'Billie' the VW T2 Bay are well positioned for road trips that encompass lovely British countryside and scenic south coast beaches.

This base, only an hour's drive  south of Croydon, makes Wilding Away campervan hire an ideal option for Londoners looking to take a break from the bustling capital and escape to a holiday on the road. No matter where you're coming from, Tor and Billie present the perfect opportunity to rent a campervan and go for a trip along the south coast. From Brighton to Bognor, there's a host of seaside sights to take in on your travels, along with the rolling hills of rural Sussex to venture through.

Travellers pick up the campervans from a tiny East Sussex village with several of England's best-known beaches are within driving distance. A 30-minute journey gets you to Brighton, making a swimsuit essential packing. This busy seaside resort is known for its vibrancy and diversity, so along with taking in its laid-back beach lifestyle, you can also park up your van and explore the city's historic Royal Pavilion along with its wide range of restaurants and the boutique shops of The Lanes. Further along the coast is Bognor, which you can reach in around an hour, a traditional seaside town to experience old-school England for a day or two. Portsmouth, Eastbourne and Chichester are also within reach, with Wilding Away providing everything you need for a grand tour of the English coast.

The Owner Says

To us, camping means big skies, little luxuries, and huge appetites formed on fresh air and discovery but this does not have to mean discomfort and broken sleep. At the heart of what we offer you is camping without compromising. With our stylish campervans to rent in the heart of Sussex, we invite you to discover what it means to be Wilding Away.

We are a small family business, owned and run by Caspar and Marielle with input from our biggest campervan fans, Olive (age 4), Rosalie (age 0) and Basil the Beagle. We currently have two beautiful campervans - 'Tor', our high spec VW T6 Highline and 'Billie', our iconic VW Type 2 Bay Window. Above all, we care so much about our customers and the quality of the whole holiday,  and aim to provide bespoke experiences with unique attention to detail.

Every campervan comes fully stocked with carefully chosen crockery, glassware, cooking equipment, eco cleaning products, and vanlife essentials and all bookings include fully comprehensive insurance and RAC roadside assistance and recovery. Upon collection, you will be given a thorough handover until you are happy and familiar with all the workings of your campervan so you can feel absolutely confident when setting off in your Wilding Away campervan!

Enjoyable, comfortable and great fun

Very helpful owners who went out of their way to help us and kitted the van out with lovely considerate and tasteful touches. We didn’t find it lacking in anything. We found the van comfort-and easily roomy enough for two and the dog. An excellent first time experience

Absolutely perfect. Will definitely hire again. Fantastic motorvan, clear instructions and lovely experience.

Casper & Marielle, couldn't be more helpful. From start to finish, the entire experience with them was seamless. We were given clear instructions along with a manual and contact numbers just in case. A very easy to drive campervan and with good facilities. Just what you need. Will definitely hire again. Absolutely beautiful. We drove it to Cotswolds and back and had no issues. Good mileage too. The owners were lovely and professional. Patient to take us through everything and answer all our questions. Fantastic experience Anita.
