Bumblebee, Cornwall, from Quirky Campers (0 at Quirky Campers)
With a sleek and sunny exterior to brighten anyone's day, Bumblebee is more than meets the eye. A famously reliable and easy to drive Ford Transit, for exploration in safety and comfort, with a lovingly converted rustic interior for cosy nights in, playing Scrabble.
The Owner Says
From £225 for a winter weekend to £637 for a summer week.
Bumblebee has excellent storage facilities and modern amenities like a 240v hook up and an extremely efficient diesel heater that quickly heats up the van, even in the depths of winter. This, coupled with the recycled plastic insulation will ensure that you stay toasty and warm. The interior is tastefully decorated in locally sourced copper and partly reclaimed wood, as well as being uniquely upholstered by a local craftsman and cheerfully painted in seaside inspired colours. This is finished off with a hand-tooled woodcarving that mirrors the meticulous attention to detail throughout the conversion. Suitable for a family holiday, or for a romantic couples retreat. The van includes a top bunk for two children to stowaway, with removable netting for safety. For bigger kids, extra slats for the top bunk can be added or for extra friends, a three man tent is available as an extra. You can seat up to five people (three in the front and two in the back) with seat belts. Bumblebee is ideal for those seeking adventure, and for those who enjoy their creature comforts. The best of both worlds!

Appalling customer service&vehicle. Never again!
Not to be recommended. Booked trip before pandemic, offered only vouchers (no refund) so waited for nearly 2 years to go on our trip. Trip finally booked from May 8th to 22nd 2021. Were handed a faulty&dangerous vehicle despite owner knowing about fault at least 24 hours in advance but choosing not to inform us. Turns out there is no Quirky campers customer service at weekends. We incurred extra charges to stay overnight at own costs, for which we received no compensation. Finally got refund for rental - in installments. Last installment (over 50% of the total rental fee!) was refunded over a week later but only after we complained again! Excuse given was a pre-pandemic computer system. Never spoke to an actual staff member, just emails, despite many many phone calls from our side (all went to answering machine and we never received even one return call). All very upsetting! Website certainly does not reflect our experience, there is no customer service, no safety, and it generally ruined our first holiday after the pandemic. The website reviews on K9 do not reflect our experience and sound generic, so beware. No thank you, Quirky Campers.
